Sorting of the waste enables a safe and efficient waste recovery, e. g. for recycling or as a source of energy.

How waste is disposed of
Collection from home:
Paper bins, general waste bins, yellow bags: these are collected regularly from outside residents' homes. They must be placed clearly visible at the kerb by 6.00 am at the latest on collection day (or from 6.00 pm the evening before).

The collections for paper and packaging waste are free of charge. For the general waste, 13 collections per year are free of charge. Additional collections will be charged.
Old textiles: Twice a year A.R.T. also collects old sorted out textiles. Every collection date, each household can place up to 5 bags on the kerb for pick-up. Please find the collections dates for your street here.
Public collection containers:
Organic/ biological waste needs to be brought to public biological waste containers in your neighbourhood: Locations (Please use the A.R.T. organic waste bags.)
Glass bottles and glass jars are also disposed of at designated public collection bins: Locations

Local Recycling Centers
In our recyling centers we collect and accept many different types of waste, like for example construction waste, electronics, car tires, furniture, batteries, hazardous waste, textile waste etc.

Service costs
Waste collection and disposal services are funded through waste disposal fees.
